Permits

The carriers require an additional permit if they enter into more than one jurisdiction other than their home jurisdiction, if vehicles not registered under IRP/IFTA, and if the vehicles exceed the size and weight limit to operate on highways.

Trip Permits

To operate a vehicle on a non-IRP registered location requires a temporary trip permit to enter into member jurisdictions other than the home jurisdiction. The temporary trip permit is issued in lieu of IRP credentials for properly registered vehicles.

Fuel Permits

Carriers who operate their registered vehicle in multiple member jurisdictions other than their own base jurisdiction must hold an IFTA license. If the carrier doesn't hold any IFTA decal and license, then they can opt to get a temporary fuel permit to operate in other jurisdictions.

Oversize and Overweight Permits

A carrier must obtain an Oversize and Overweight Permits to authorize the movement of their vehicles if their vehicles are of over-dimensional (oversize) or overweight.
